Desperately looking for solutions here. Organic farmers, and we've been in business and sending email campaigns via Mailchimp for close to 10 years now. My problem: we send about 25 newsletters, chock full of beautiful photos, recipes, stories, etc, out to our members each year, and basically the content is lost each time we send them. Why? It's difficult (and we don't have the time) to recreate each newsletter we send as a blog post on our website. So the only people who ever see all this amazing content are those who have received the newsletter directly. We don't gain any SEO cred from having these photos, recipes and stories added to our website each week. It seems like a huge waste.
We've tried creating a blog post and just sending a link or summary, but our members really don't like clicking links from the emails to the blog (and the Mailchimp analytics back that up - our clickthroughs dropped by 50% when we tried that).
This year we switched from Wordpress to Wix, almost 100% because Wix allows you to create a blog post and then share it directly to all your subscribers with a single click. BUT WAIT!!!
Just after (or as) we were signing up, Wix went from an email marketing tool called Shoutout, to a new one called Ascend. And while Ascend costs more, and has a bunch of features that we won't use, they GOT RID OF the ability to simply send a blog post. ARRGGHH
So please give us some advice! The thing that really confuses me is why this isn't a bigger issue - there really aren't any straightforward ways to share content between Mailchimp and any of the blog sites out there, and I can't understand why anyone would want to do twice the work or lose all the content they spend so much time crafting into newsletters.
Is there an easier way to do this that I don't know about? Am I worrying too much about up-to-date content on my website or blog? How do any of you deal with this?
Thanks,
