While passive solar design results in a decreased use of energy, it does not necessarily mean that your home is completely operating off the grid… What it DOES mean, is reduced reliance on non-renewable (and costly!) energy sources like coal and gas. So, in addition to lowering your overall cost in utilities, you’re also significantly lowering your carbon footprint too! A win-win for everyone.
