Starting a business - Seeking advice on email platforms

Hi all,

I need some help choosing the right platform on which to build an online business. I’d like to start a business that delivers education via a regular email newsletter and online video courses.

So I need platforms for two things:

1) an essay-based email newsletter

2) Online courses delivered via an automated email series, text and video-based

Here’s the functionality I'd like for each:

Email newsletter:

• Must-haves: text, images, capability to attach pdfs, paid subscriber tier
• Desirable: videos embedded in email, ability to insert elements that stand out from the main body of the text (like when a blog will explore a little aside, slightly unrelated to the main text) – e.g. with a colourful border, different font or background

Online courses:

• Must-haves: purchase courses via website, upon purchase an automated email series begins, programmable, automated email schedule,
• Desirable: videos embedded in email

I think I can do most of the email newsletter via Substack, but I don’t think I can do the automated email series with them.

What would people recommend? I'm new to this so would appreciate any online resources or books you can point me towards.

Also, if anyone knows of an email platform consultant they can recommend I’d be happy to pay for a one-hour Skype call to discuss the above.
