Is there a way to stop my email from going to people's "promotions" tab

I am having a virtual event in a couple weeks and need people's emails to send them info. When they sign up, they're supposed to receive a confirmation. People who have tried, including myself, receive them in their Promotions folder (at least if they're using Gmail that's what happens). I set the email up using Mailchimp and the form is through my website. Any advice or tips or deal with its appreciated thank you
