Wix vs Squarespace, and built in marketing and storefronts vs Mailchimp and Shopify.

TL;DR. Scroll to the bold for my email marketing question, but if anyone has storefront and website builder knowledge, I'd appreciate some advice. :)

Hey guys. I'm gearing up to build my first website in a while, and actually, I have plans for several more.

My last website was on Wix, and it's serviceable but not great (Might be my fault). I found the builder to be a little finicky, so I've decided to take a look at Squarespace.

Upon reading up on their features, I was impressed on paper but would still like to hear your thoughts on both. I'm familiar with most squarespace options now that I've read up on them, so I'm interested to hear if Wix has comparable features, or if they're better or lacking in any important ways? (Trying to save myself a read).

It also appears they have a good "email marketing" option (paid), and I was wondering how it compares with Mailchimp? (Which is what I was planning to use). I want to capture data, but also be able to create stylish emails, and so Squarespace is appealing from an integration and branding perspective, but I want the most robust CRM features.

I was also impressed with their ecommerce options (though to access them, the plan gets a lot more expensive), but was wondering how these compare with those in Wix, and also separately, shopify. And also, if I did go with shopify, if these integrate with Wix and squarespace websites? I don't really do Point of sale, but I love how simple it seems to be on Squarespace with Square integration, and I have a few ideas where that might come in handy.

Also... one thing that bothers me about Squarespace is that supposedly they'd delete my website if I stopped paying. I don't mean stop showing it, I mean delete it, so I'd need to rebuild it. From what I can gather, Wix does not? It would just move to ad supported. (Even if it does close down, it would retain a copy so I could re-activate quickly).

Also, does Wix discount for multiple websites? Squarespace doesn't.

And finally, can Wix host my email? Squarespace has Google integration, but I'm trying to move away from that. at $8 a month, and with me only using email (and not all the other features), I'd really like to have it hosted free, or cheap elsewhere, and I'm hoping Wix might have a solution?

Unless you have a REALLY good reason, I'm not really looking at other platforms. I want to throw up a good quality websites, with lots of features and support, but no coding, and no hassle. Squarespace is in the lead for me, but I could be swayed back to Wix.
