False positives normal with email tracking

Folks,

I'm using mailtag.io for email open and click tracking. They're great with the exception of the occasional false positive for emails I've sent 3 or more days ago. Here is how I usually see a false positive:

1. Get a reminder about an email I've sent 3 days ago
2. Open the email to remove the reminder
3. See a false positive

Are false positives normal for email tracking tool? If not, what tools are folks using to track emails?
