Good Email Marketing Results

email marketing resultsGetting Good Email Marketing Results Doesn’t Have To Be Complicated. By consistently following a few simple steps, you can build targeted email marketing lists, automatically follow up, and drive more sales for your business. Let’s talk about it.

Good email marketing results start with  understanding the goal. Your first goal should be to get subscribers on your list. Getting subscribers on your list means you have people interested in learning more about what you offer. To accomplish this goal, you want to start by making sure you have set up your follow up letters and created a capture page or added capture form code to your web site.

As an example, we have our capture form code added to this article using the Magic Action Box plug in for WordPress.

Once you have your capture page set up and your letters written, the next step to getting good email marketing results is to begin driving traffic to your capture page. This can be done via advertising, social media, direct networking, etc… In our case, any time we post to social media, run advertising, or talk to people in person, we are directing them back to our capture page to learn more. If they are interested, they fill out the form and are added to our autoresponder for automated followup.

From this point, good email marketing results is a matter of testing and follow through. What do we test? We constantly review our entire process from the top down. Are our ads getting clicked? We use our AdTracker service to tell us that information. If the ad isn’t getting clicked, this tells us that the ad is ineffective. We will modify headlines, calls to action, copy, etc… to get the clicks we should have.

From there, we track subscription requests. If someone is clicking our ads but not filling out the form, we are losing them. To fix that, we will work on the copy in the capture page itself. When we see subscriptions coming in, we move to testing open rates and click-throughs. If our message aren’t getting opened, we need to work on our subject lines. If the message is being opened, but readers are not clicking our links to learn more and order, we will work on the copy, try different calls to action, etc… to get the results we need.

This process of testing, modifying, and retesting is an ongoing process and is the process that leads to getting good email marketing results.
