NUGGS collects phone numbers, not from the person who is interacting with the signup form but for the users' FRIEND's phone numbers. In the same signup form, it also asks for YOUR IG handle. Both are required fields.
How is this SMS compliant if the people's phone numbers they're collecting do not belong to the people submitting them?
I tested by submitting my own phone number + IG handle but didn't get a text, likely because my phone provider filtered it out as spam. Later, I submitted my email address and my partner's phone number (a new profile) at checkout before abandoning. An hour later he received an Abandoned Checkout SMS.
It's been a couple of days since I submitted my own phone number in the SMS capture field on their site and still nothing.
Any ideas as to how this is a compliant strategy are very much appreciated!
