"How to think" about value proposition?

Over the past 2 weeks, I've been viewing tons of video on email marketing & email content. All of them talk about "show your prospects the value proposition" or "what's in it for them".

I'm finding it a challenge to think in a way that shows "what's in it for them" in multiple ways. The standard statements like you will save money or you will save time does not make the cut anymore.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

How do I solve this? Are there videos or online courses that I can attend to start thinking the right way?
