Hi!
I am new to the community, but I have designed and built emails for marketing purposes for about 9 years, and I have not touched it in the last year. I have a client who is asking me to build a template for them with a design that their designer will share with me. They told me that they would like me to tackle the issue of dark mode. This is something I came to learn about a few months ago and I read the comprehensive blog post on Litmus so I understand it very well, at least in theory.
I would like to hear from some of you, what are your tips at making ANY design work well? I see that even with media queries, it will not be perfect everywhere, and I see that Litmus testing is not comprehensive either. Do you simply swap elements with images, such as buttons or header rows? If a logo is black, it will obviously not show up in dark mode, and image swapping seems to have spotty support too.
Just wondering if anyone has good answers to this since I want to provide my client with the best solutions out there. Thanks so much!
