Suggestions/tips for deliverability, CTR, and email dev?

I work for a supply chain finance company and target mainly finance decision makers in large corporations. We send primarily plain-text styled emails since the majority of our list uses Outlook, however I'm looking to up our email game for the new year (we use Pardot).

I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations on tools, services, etc to help accomplish my big three email goals for the year:

  1. Identify where in inbox our emails are landing (or if they're making it to the inbox at all). If there are any tools you use for this and like, let me know.

  2. Introduce new strategies for increasing CTR for our emails. Our 2019 CTR was 1.04% (I started my job end of Q1). Our content team is currently undergoing a content revamp (switching from a strictly professional style to more human and educational), and while I believe improving our content and writing will help significantly, I'd love to know of any other ideas you might have to help boost CTR.

  3. Increase proficiency in HTML/CSS coding to further customize our emails and start introducing more beautiful emails to our flow (esp. for holidays). Any recommendations for online courses or resources you've used to improve email dev skills would be wonderful. I've been through the beginner HTML/CSS courses on codecademy but that's it.

Thank you all for the suggestions! Hope you're all having a great start to the new year.
