Mailchimp, GetResponse, everyone seems to have the same annoyance. Unsubscribe = Unsubscribe from everything. Any suggestions?

I have a general newsletter that is accessible to the public. Then, I have multiple community/member only newsletters that are private. For individuals subscribed to multiple newsletters, when they hit unsubscribe in Mailchimp or GetResponse, they are removed from everything.

Mailchimp advises one Master List and using groups/tags/segments to organize things. Once again, if the user unsubscribes once, they unsubscribe from everything.

GetResponse (which I was considering switching to) confirmed they, too, encourage one list.

The reason is so you don't have one subscriber on multiple lists getting counted for every list they are on (since they price things per subscriber).

Is there an email marketing service that has solved this issue?
