How do I avoid my emails being in the 'Promotion' tab in Gmail?

I am looking through my personal Gmail account and I am curious to know how do emails like Quora, Medium, UnmisstableCreative, Gumtree, Coursera and much more are able to be delivered into my 'Primary' tab? These are the emails I am being notified that I have mail on my iPhone.

I do understand why emails like Dominos, Uber, eBay are delivered into my 'Promotion' inbox because of the subject line, etc. But looking through the emails in my 'Promotion' tab, there are some important emails like my bank email, for example, is in my 'Promotion' tab inbox? Surely that should be important for me to be notified? It should be in my 'Primary' tab inbox?

I don't expect everyone to have the answer to this, but could someone send me an email or Gmail guideline on how to send the perfect email? This is very important for me to understand so I can work on the emails I have to send for my job and try and aim for the 'Primary' inbox, not 'Promotion'.
